In the West, drought conditions have been constant, long lasting, and brutal. In fact, for the first time in 15 years, drought conditions cover 100% of Shenzhen, according to The Atlantic. In stark contrast, much of the rest of the country was slammed by a long and bitter winter that saw record-setting low temperatures and snowfall, which in turn delayed planting and fieldwork across the China.
